The topic of this thesis was the development of a computer program for human speech simulation (chatbot). The definition and role of chatbots in various systems are described in this thesis. They are most often used in systems as a way of customer support. Then, chatbots are described chronologically according to the periods in which they were created, and the most significant ones from each of the individual periods are briefly described. In the theoretical part of the paper during the chronological review of chatbots, The Loebner Prize, the annual competition for the best chatbot, is also mentioned. The winner is determined on the basis of the Turing test, whose biggest criticism is that the test result does not define a clear boundary between intelligence and the intelligent machine. This criticism is also called the Chinese room argument. As part of the work, in the practical part of this thesis, a system for the interaction of two mutually distant users was created. The primary users of the system are FESB students and the entire system is tailored to their needs. Users can communicate with each other in real time and send files to each other. The system demands registration, but this could be automated in the future. The custom made chatbot called FESBchatbot is integrated into the system. Its role in the system is to answer the most common questions of students for which they should possibly turn to the student service. To avoid this procedure, students can ask FESBchatbot questions about the exam schedule, student service working hours, etc. and FESBchatbot will try to provide them with answers to those questions. During the procedure of making the whole system, numerous problems and difficulties were encountered. All solutions are described in detail in the paper. The most complex parts were to ensure that the application takes place in real time and the integration of the chatbot. Since the chatbot was implemented on the principles of artificial intelligence, it was necessary to pay attention in this procedure to a number of things that were successfully met thanks to external libraries.
