The main task of synthesis is to find a system that gives a searched response for a given stimulus. The synthesis consists of two parts. In the first part, the transfer function of the system is formed, and in the second part, the system that gives the required transfer function is realized. We distinguish between systems with available state variables and systems with partially available state variables. In systems with partially available state variables, we distinguish two methods: • Minor loop method • Serial connection method With the minor loop method, it is necessary to generate inaccessible state variables. We move the branch of the state variable that is not available to us (let’s call it “n”), in a block diagram, opposite to the flow of information. The moving branch is multiplied by the value of the skipped block. We get two parallel branches coming out of the “n-1” node and connect them into one minor loop. We thus obtain a transfer function within a minor loop that has the normal form of a fractional rational function. For cases where multiple state variables are not available, the principal is the same. An inaccessible hub always moves in the opposite direction of the information flow until the available hub is reached. As with the minor loop method, the serial link method also initially requires the generation of inaccessible variables. The goal is to realize a serial compensator in such a way as to form a common transfer function. Output, reference, and all replaced state variables pass through the compensator. As the serial compensator is located in the basic branch, the order of the system increases. In general, an object of n-th order requires a compensator with n-1 zeros and n-1 poles. Therefore, in order to realize the desired transfer function, it is necessary to realize a compensator for the n-th order object, which cancels the n-1 poles of the object. For this reason, a serial compensator is a good solution if it is a lower order system, since a higher order compensator is used to compensate for a higher order system, which makes it an economically unprofitable solution.
