Abstract
U ovom radu je dan pregled REST arhitekture te naprednih programerskih tehnika koje se koriste pri razvoju modernih mrežnih aplikacija. Razvijen je web servis za geolokaciju autobusa koji nabavlja podatke iz mnoštva kako bi se prikazala posljednja lokacija traženog autobusa. Podaci prikupljeni iz mnoštva su se koristili i za razvoj određenih mrežnih servisa poput računa prosječnog vremena koje je potrebno autobusu da prijeđe put između dvije proizvoljne stanice u određenom vremenskom periodu. Također je napravljen i sustav koji korisnicima ograničava pristup aplikaciji u ovisnosti o broju pristupnih žetona, a moguće je i računati broj ljudi koji su se vozili određenim autobusom u nekom vremenskom periodu, ispisivati autobusne rute i sl. Aplikacija je implementirana koristeći napredne programerske tehnike kroz razvojni okvir Spring Framework. Također su obrađene glavne značajke tog razvojnog okvira. Zahvaljujući visokoj razini apstrakcije koju nudi razvojni okvir te slojevitom dizajnu aplikacije, aplikaciju je moguće u budućnosti proširivati dodatnim funkcionalnostima kako količina nabavljenih podataka bude rasla korištenjem aplikacije.
Abstract (english)
This graduate thesis provide an overview of the REST architecture. It also provides an overview of advanced programming techniques used in the development of modern web applications. This undergraduate thesis also presents the implementation of web service that uses crowdsourced data in effort to display the last known location for the requested bus. The crowdsourced data is also used to develop other web services. One of those services calculates the average time that a bus takes to traverse a path between two arbitrary stations in a given period of time. There is also a system that restricts user access to the application depending on number of user access tokens. It is also possible to calculate the number of passengers in a given time window or to calculate bus routes. The application is implemented using advanced programming techniques offered by the Spring Framework. Main Spring Framework features are also given. Thanks to the high level of abstraction offered by the framework and thanks to the layered application design, the application can be extended in the future to include many more functionalities that depend on big amounts of crowdsourced data.
