Abstract
U ovom radu razrađena je tema problema n tijela. Proći ćemo kratko kroz povijest te pogledati kako se došlo do rješenja problema. Izvući ćemo zaključke na temelju povijesnih pokusa te pokušati taj problem riješiti u sadašnjosti primjenom paralelizma kojim znatno skraćujemo vrijeme potrebno za izvršavanje koda. CUDA, platforma NVIDIA-e, nam omogućava da pomoću paralelizma vršimo mnoštvo istih operacija u kraćem vremenskom roku. Ona omogućava kombinaciju dretvi i blokova koji se sastoji od warpova koji su grupa dretvi. Ovisno o zadatku kojeg moramo vršiti odabiremo odgovarajuću kombinaciju blokova i dretvi tj. ovisno o samoj složenosti problema. Nakon niza ponavljanja izvođenja koda uvijek rezultira istim, a to je da brzina izvršavanja u serijskom načinu rada, koristeći CPU, je znatno sporije nego upotrebom paralelizma, koji pruža GPU-a.
Abstract (english)
In this paper the topic which has been elaborated is n body problem. We will go through history briefly and see how the problem was solved. We will draw conclusions based on historical attempts and try to solve this problem in the present by applying parallelism which significantly shortens the time required to execute the code. CUDA, NVIDIA's platform, allows us to perform many of the same operations in a shorter period of time using parallelism. It allows a combination of threads and blocks consisting of warps that are a group of threads. Regardless of the task we have to perform, we choose the appropriate combination of blocks and threads, ie independently of the complexity of the problem. After a series of repetitions, code execution always results in the same, and that is that the execution speed in serial mode, using the CPU, is significantly slower than using the parallelism provided by the GPU.
