Since their first appearance about 50 years ago, satellite systems have made significant progress. It all started with one satellite that was launched during the Second World War, and today there are at least 141 of them that are launched and active. Despite the progress, a need for an electronic board, that quickly retrieves and easily sends the data requested by the user has emerged. Making a board as such, was the main goal of this thesis. Our advanced board is based on a smart GPS receiver, the GPS-622F, which is connected to an Arduino Pro Mini microcontroller. The code was implemented on the microcontroller simply by programming the FTDI FT232RL programmer. In the header of the program code, we have inserted the Wire.h library, which enables I2C communication with another Arduino device. Our board then behaves as a "Slave" device, which sends the requested data on the clock signal of the "Master" device. We also inserted a lithium battery CR2032, as an alternative voltage supply source. The board, therefore, contains a p-channel MOSFET, which acts as a switch that interrupts the supply line. A transistor as such is necessary to ensure that it can never happen for the two supply sources to be active at the same time. In the end, a scheme and footprints of the board were made in order to potentiate circuit board printing. Considering the significant development of technologies and the rapid growth of the number of active satellites, we believe that there is room for improvement in this advanced circuit board.
