Human communication is one of the fundamental things that describes interpersonal relationships. With the development of computer networks and the Internet, human communication has been raised to a much higher level. Communication over the Internet is characterised by ease of use, availability, mobility and a large device platform that supports it. Today, the need for communication over the Internet is growing because it enables easy access to resources and data exchange. The benefits of the Internet are also being exploited at the business level and because of that today almost all companies are networked. In order to use the Internet successfully, it is necessary to connect and configure some devices, primarily switches and routers. The goal of this master thesis was to create a network of the company whose headquarters are located in the city of Split and branch in Zagreb in the Cisco Packet Tracer simulator. Communication between departments is determined by the rules and engineers from Split can remotely control a device located in Zagreb via VPN. The insight into the configurations of all devices of the achieved communication of the company is provided, as well. The control part of the predefined and controlled system is modeled in Simulink and the system is inverted pendulum on a cart. Analysis of the network speed was also performed and it is determined by experiments how long the network has control over the controlled system.
