Abstract
Početni dio završnog rada sastoji se od općenitih saznanja vezanih za komunikacijske kabele. Komunikacijski kabel je električni kabel koji služi za slanje informacijskih signala. Najčešće korištene vrste komunikacijskih kabela su parice, Ethernet, svjetlovodni i koaksijalni kabel. Svaka vrsta od navedenih ima svoje specifične primjene i svojstva. U nastavku rada se detaljnije promatra koaksijalni kabel te njegova građa i uloge. Koaksijalni kabel je vrsta kabela kod koje je jedan vodič smješten unutar drugog u svrhu poboljšanja elektromagnetskih svojstava. Sastoji se od četiri sloja od kojih prvi sloj predstavlja centralni vodič, drugi sloj je izolator oko centralnog vodiča, treći sloj je sloj oko izolatora zatim, četvrti sloj je zaštitni sloj. Koaksijalni kabel kao i svaki drugi ima svoja osnovna električna svojstva kao što su kapacitet, induktivitet, otpor i vodljivost. Pored osnovnih svojstava postoje i izvedeni parametri kabela koji diktiraju njegov rad, a to su njegova karakteristična impedancija, prigušenje, brzina propagacije i vršni napon. Za provjeru funkcionalnosti i rada koaksijalnog kabela mogu se vršiti razna mjerenja nad njim, kao što su na primjer promatranje ulaznog i izlaznog signala te mjerenje frekvencije pomoću osciloskopa, mjerenje prigušenja kabela i mjerenje otpora izolacije pomoću posebnih testera. U završnom dijelu rada, odnosno praktičnom dijelu, takva mjerenja su se vršila nad koaksijalnim kabelom. Doneseni su zaključci da je gušenje kabela veće i značajnije što je kabel duži i frekvencija viša. Ako je otpor izolacije malog iznosa može postojati potencijalni rizik kratkog spoja između centralnog vodiča i štita kabela ili ako je izolacija nedovoljno dobra može prouzrokovati dodatne gubitke.
Abstract (english)
The initial part of the final thesis refers to the basic pieces of knowledge about communication cables. A communication cable is an electrical cable used to send information signals. The most commonly used types of communication cables are twisted pair, Ethernet, fiber optics and coaxial cables. Each listed type has its specific uses and characteristics. Further in the thesis is a more detailed review of coaxial cables, their internal structure and their purposes. Coaxial cable is a type of electrical cable consisting of an inner conductor inside of a larger one to improve electromagnetic properties. It consists of four layers, where the first layer is a central conductor, the second layer is a dielectric around the central conductor, the third layer is a layer around the dielectric and the final fourth layer is a protective layer. Coaxial cable, just as any other, has its basic electrical properties like capacity, inductance, resistance and conductivity. Next to his basic electrical properties, he has properties like characteristic impedance, attenuation, propagation speed and peak voltage. For functionality checks, we can make various measurements like observing input/output signals and frequency with an oscilloscope, attenuation and insulation resistance checks with special testers. At the very end of the thesis, those kinds of measurements were made. It was concluded, the longer the cable and higher the frequency, attenuation becomes more significant. If the insulation resistance is small, there may be a potential risk of a short circuit between the central conductor and shield and if the insulation is generally not good enough it can cause additional losses.
